The Sea Bright Post Office building on Ocean Ave., boarded up and vacant since Sandy ripped through, will finally come back to life this summer in the form of a new restaurant.

NJ.com reports that Tommy's Tavern + Tap will take over the space, hoping to be open by 4th of July weekend.

The restaurant comes from the former owners of Tommy's Coal Fired Pizza, (in Red Bank, Brick, and Paramus) and will have banquet space available on the second level.

There are also plans to develop a tiki bar and outdoor dining area.

The restaurant's menu will offer everything from coal-fired pizza and wings to sushi, with a full bar focusing on whisky.

Parking can be a little tricky in that area, but this a great opportunity for Sea Bright. It's really devastating to see all the buildings still boarded up now almost three years post-Sandy, but it's equally heartwarming to see these little bits of progress!

Best of luck to the Tommy's Tavern + Tap crew!
