The Roman Catholic Churches of Toms River (RCCTR) are inviting you to join them for a memorial mass on Monday August 6 to pray for the unborn children who have been aborted in Ocean County.

RCCTR consists of St. Joe's, St. Justin's, St. Luke's and St. Maximilian Kolbe in Toms River who have formed a collaborative effort to raise public awareness on issues affecting the catholic church, diagnose the problem related to a drop in attendance, find people help and welcome people to the church among other outreach initiatives.

A memorial mass (7:00 pm) is being held by the RCCTR following a praying of the rosary at 6:30 pm on Monday August 6 at St. Justin the Martyr Parish, 975 Fischer Boulevard in Toms River.

"In conjunction with the RCCTR Respect Life Ministries, a Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Justin the Martyr Parish for the 3,000 babies that were aborted in the Toms River abortion clinic. The Mass is also in memory of the 100 babies that were aborted in Loveladies, NJ and found in the trash in 1984," according to a statement from the RCCTR.

The Catholic Church since its inception has been on a mission to protect all human life and that includes the unborn.

"God loves each human life from the instant of his or her conception and entrusts this gift to the protection of a mother and father. Abortion ends the life of a child and offends God.  It also deeply wounds the men and women involved," according to the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops).

The Knights of Columbus have also been vocal about curbing the amount of abortions in recent years through their Ultrasound Initiative, funding about 900 ultrasound machines which have been placed at pro-life pregnancy care centers in all 50-states and Canada.

Earlier this year, Supreme Knight (the leader of the organization) Carl Anderson endorsed a Trump administration initiative to change funding to Title X.

"The Knights of Columbus applauds the Trump administration’s announcement that it intends to end the use of Title X taxpayer funding for centers that perform, support or refer abortions," Anderson said in a statement.

If you're interested in attending the mass you're asked to call St. Justin’s parish office at 732-270-3980 to sign in for this spiritual event.
