Businesses and homes weren't the only places damaged by Hurricane Sandy.

A lot of local schools were destroyed and need help to get everything back together for our kids.

The same woman who planned Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for families displaced by Sandy is now planning a fundraiser for several elementary schools.

Shore Up Our Schools will take place on Saturday, January 19th from 5p-midnight at Martell's Tiki Bar on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach.

Tickets for the event are $20, which includes a free buffet from 6 -10pm. There are some amazing local bands playing as well, including The B Street Band, The Nick Clemons Band, Undisputed, and others.

Proceeds from the event will be distributed to Antrim Elementary PTO, Point Pleasant Beach PTO, Bay Head Elementary, and Lavallette Elementary.

You can purchase tickets at Bay Head School, Martell's Tiki Bar, or by calling Stephanie Salardino at 908-420-8954.
