The new animal adoption center at the mall is having a fun open house/grand opening event!

Local non-profit Pick Your Paw Animal Rescue has opened their new adoption center inside Freehold Raceway Mall on the ground floor next to Sears in the space that was previously occupied by the MCSPCA.

Puppies, dogs, cats and kittens are available for adoption and the grand opening celebration is this Saturday, January 19th, from Noon - 6 pm.

There will be great activities going on throughout the day including Doggy Yoga and reading to dogs & cats. T-shirts and pet merchandise will be available for purchase, and donations will be accepted to help care for the animals.

Pick Your Paw pulls animals from municipal shelters to prevent them from being euthanized, and then works to get them adopted. Typically, these dogs are in need of medical care before being ready for adoption.

There are also dogs throughout our area that are typically harder to get adopted, even though they are sweet and wonderful, including older dogs and bully breeds. Pick Your Paw believes that these dogs deserve to live and find their homes and will showcase them at this location as well.

Pick Your Paw was co-founded in 2011 by Heathre Goldberg and Tammy Boland when they saw adoptable dogs being euthanized for lack of space. This all-volunteer rescue has saved hundreds and dogs and puppies and is hoping to find homes for hundreds more in the months and years ahead thanks to the new adoption center.
