Save The Seaside Boardwalk Cats

A Change.org petition has been started by a local resident to save the Seaside Boardwalk Cats.

Since 2012, the Seaside Heights Animal Welfare Organization has cared for the cats of the Seaside Boardwalk by creating a colony system, which provides shelters and feeding stations. Grants and individual donations have helped the organization trap, neuter and release over 300 cats, at no cost to tax payers.

Recently, the board members who work each day to feed and maintain the colonies have been stripped of their positions, leaving the cats without the care they are used to or supportive people who would do anything to protect them.

This petition will go to Mayor Anthony Vaz and Town Council Administrator Chris Vaz.

Atlantic City has been maintaining a boardwalk cat colony since 2000, Asbury Park has one as well. As long as the SHAWO takes care of the animals, there's no reason they shouldn't be allowed to stay.
