Seaside Park and Pelican Island Residents to Begin Returning Home

The limited re-population of Seaside Park begins today.

According to the Borough Government website, the Governor signed off on a Phase III plan that will only allow homeowners, contractors and residents with a valid re-entry sticker or a entry work permit access.

Residents possessing these stickers will be granted 24 hour access. However, their movement will be restricted to their property and will only be permitted to travel to and from their residence.

Contractors, plumbers, electricians, adjusters and inspectors, will be allowed during curfew hours of 7AM and 4PM. They too will only be limited to the property or properties that are under construction and are only permitted to travel directly to and from those properties.

Borough officials say civilian pedestrian traffic is prohibited and unnecessary vehicular traffic will be prohibited as well.

Meanwhile, Toms River's Pelican Island residents are being allowed to move back home Thursday morning starting at 8 o'clock.  According to the Township website Mayor Tom Keleher says all utility companies have finished their work making them the first section on the northern barrier island in the township to move back home earlier than anticipated.

Keleher says they're looking at getting the northern beach area residents home next.
