Helicopters and K-9 units were used in the search for an escaped suspect in Toms River.

Jeffrey Livingston, 22, of Manchester ran off from a vehicle being searched for drugs, according to a statement from Toms River Police. He fled into a heavily wooded area near the corner of Washington Avenue and Whittier Avenue which is not far from Route 37. As of late afternoon police said Livingston had not been captured. No charges have yet been set against Livingston.

Police believe that a gun threat called into the Ocean County Mall, also in Toms River, was made by Livingston from his cell phone.

New Jersey State Police and the Ocean County Sheriff's Dept.assisted with the search during the afternoon.

Livingston is described as a black male wearing a black tee shirt and black shorts. He is 6-feet, 4-inches tall weighing 180 lbs. Anyone with information about Livingston's whereabouts should contact Toms River Police at 732-349-0150. Do not approach Livingston if you see him.
