The closings continue as we get news of another store at the Shore calling it quits.

According to a press release from searsholding.com, The Sears at the Seaview Square Shopping Center on Route 66 in Ocean Township will begin store closing sales in the very near future. Liquidation sales will begin on around June 14. This Sears location was recognized by the company as a "non-profitable" store. This comes after the news of the Toms River Sears winding down.

The Ocean Township Sears is one of 48 stores that are shutting down. Other New Jersey locations include Lawrenceville and Burlington. 15 K-Mart stores nationwide are closing as well.

Whenever I hear about businesses closing, I always think about the people who are losing their jobs. Companies like Sears have many employees that have been with them for many, many years.

There is a little bit of good news. Sears says that:

Eligible associates impacted by these store closures will receive severance and will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Kmart or Sears stores.
