Seeing the Jersey Shore for the First Time

I met a lovely person from Buffalo, NY, who drover 8 hours to meet The Bachelor in Freehold! It was her first time in NJ, and when she asked what she should see while she was here, I offered to show her around.

I thought it was really cool that someone would take a road trip adventure alone and drive pretty far away to a new place she had never been and where she didn't know anyone.

So while I was meeting all the fans at the event I hosted at iPlay America where I interviewed Chris Soules, I got to know Jeannie, and this girl was excited about seeing New Jersey for the first time and wanted to know what the best places would be to squeeze into a day of sightseeing on Sunday.

My very first thought was that if you only have one day in your life to see NJ, you gotta see the Jersey Shore on a beautiful, warm summer day. So I suggested she check out the Belmar Seafood Festival, take a ride down Ocean Avenue through Spring Lake, and then check out the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk and dine at a wonderful waterside restaurant for dinner.

Well Jeannie thoroughly enjoyed the suggestions. She texted me a few times from the Seafood Festival to tell me how fantastic a time she was having, and then, not wanting her to be all alone for the whole day, I met up with her when she got to Point Beach and she loved seeing the action at Jenks and all of the stuff going on at the boardwalk.

I had drinks and dinner with her at the Wharfside's outside on their gorgeous dining terrace which, as far as I'm concerned, has one of the top five dining views at the Jersey Shore. We watched as tons of boats and fishing trawlers went by the inlet on a perfect-weather early-evening.

She drove back to Buffalo with a phone full of photos and some new memories of her adventures at the Jersey Shore. She told me that everyone she met throughout the day was so nice to her and that she has nothing but great big love for the beautiful area in which we get to live!

It was awesome to see the places I live and hang out from the perspective of someone that has never been here, and I made a new friend in the process. Fun times! Here's one of my favorite photos she took while in Belmar. It really captures summer at the shore.
