Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst rocks, all weekend. And if you leave on the outskirts of it, maybe some of your dishes and windows, too.

Army heavy artillery and mortar training runs throughout the weekend, according to a JBMDL Facebook note.

It might seem louder today than it will the rest of the weekend. Clouds overhead intensify the noise and increase their earshot distance.

NWS Earle explosives training next week

Folks living in, and driving through, Colts Neck around Route 34, and Middletown's Leonardo section along Route 36, will hear and feel the noise during the week of October 16.

Explosive demolition training is scheduled at Naval Weapons Station Earle, each day through Thursday, October 20.

Detonations are planned for afternoon hours, though weather conditions might dictate some morning blasts. Base officials caution that the periodic training might cause ground tremors and plainly-audible detonations. Again, low clouds will intensify the volume and distance.
