The town is Lake Como.

According to NJ.com, the council unanimously voted to pass a resolution to authorize requests for proposals for police services in the borough of roughly 2,000 residents. Those requests went out to Belmar, Wall Township, Spring Lake and Spring Lake Heights on Wednesday. The towns have 30 days to respond.

The Lake Como Police Department includes nine officers and the chief, Fred Hope. According to public records, Hope earns an annual salary of $126,697.

One officer already transferred to Belmar and another will do the same in a couple weeks. It's unclear what would happen to the seven other officers.
