The snowy-icy conditions on Monday morning were the culprit of a single car crash in Lakewood where the vehicle overturned near the intersection of Broadway and Vine Avenue.

Lakewood Police Sergeant Nathaniel Montgomery said they received a call around 8:22 am and when another officer arrived at the scene he was approached by the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.

The driver managed to exit the vehicle on his own with no visible injuries.

The driver told police that he were traveling west on Broad Street and while trying to apply the brakes, his vehicle slid on the wet snow and veered off the road and hit a stationary electrical box.

The vehicle then flipped on to its side and came to a complete stop with part of it leaning on the electrical box.

The driver refused medical attention at the scene.

The vehicle was able to be towed off the electrical box safely.

Police said JCP&L was notified about the damaged box and there was no loss of power to the surrounding residents.
