When you hear "sounds of the season", your mind may go to thoughts of Frosty and Santa, unless of course you live at the Jersey Shore and summer is around the corner.

This time of year, the Jersey Shore sounds of the season are my absolute favorites, and there are a lot of them. Those great sounds that remind us that summer, our season is here.

Let's start with the beautiful sound of the sea gulls at the beach. Is there anything that jars memories of long days at the beaches of the Jersey Shore? It's a great sound that makes you feel like you're home.

I really love the sound of people and rides at the boardwalk. Kids laughing, music playing and rides clanking. And there's that wonderful sound of dozens of conversations happening all at once. That's the sound of friends and families making memories.

Or how about the classic waves crashing on the beach. You can't beat that sound, especially when you're lucky enough to hear it on a quiet beach (if you're lucky enough to find one...good luck with that).

For the purposes of this piece I will skip over the sounds of horns blaring on the parkway, the foul language associated with being unable to find a parking space, the growling when your favorite restaurant now has a 1 hour 35 minute wait, and many other unfortunate sounds of the season.
