Sporty wasn't chosen by the bride-to-be, but he still gets to be in today's big wedding!

The Monmouth County SPCA would like to thank all of you who voted to get Sporty a wife. Thanks to your support, Sporty finished in the top ten nationwide!

The point of getting Sporty into the nationwide contest was to remind people that there are wonderful older dogs that are still looking for their forever homes and that they are worthy of looking at and getting to know. After all, they need love, and are so sad when they are passed by at the shelter because everyone wants a puppy instead.

Sporty did get his happy ending after all. He got adopted during the contest...and his new name is Peanut. Peanut will still get to be in today's wedding in Central Park where he will witness Baby Hope give her paw in marriage to the dog she did choose to make her husband.

And there is no skimping on this black-tie event....The Cake Boss is making the wedding cake and the wedding will be fetured on his TLC show. You will also get to see Baby Hope's hunt for the perfect wedding dress on TLC's Say Yes to the Dress!

Who says dogs can't get married and live happily ever after?
