Bruce Springsteen surprised an audience Saturday night at Asbury Park’s “The Press Room” on Bangs Avenue, at a benefit show for the family of his former trainer Tony Strollo.

Strollo, who passed away at age 40 earlier this month, was Springsteen’s trainer on the “Magic Tour” in 2008-2009.

Tony, from Tinton Falls,  leaves behind  two young daughters, Chloe and Gracie, and his wife Jana. He attended Shore Regional High School, where he played varsity football.



According to  Twitter reports from last night, Springsteen performed six songs with show headliners Boccigalupe and the Bad Boys.
