Any time Bruce Springsteen shows up for an unexpected performance at a local New Jersey venue, it causes a stir. But in a recent social media post, "The Boss" quickly squashed rumors of another upcoming appearance at the Stone Pony.

Back in July, Springsteen join Joe Grushecky and Eddie Manion on stage at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park. They're scheduled to appear at the Stone Pony on Oct. 23 and Oct. 24, but this time, The Boss won't be part of the jam sessions.

On Thursday afternoon Springsteen posted a message to his Facebook page saying "Due to ticket speculation, want to say that I will not be able to join Joe Grushecky at his upcoming shows in Asbury as I will be out of town. Wishing Joe all the best! Have some great nites."

The upcoming Stone Pony shows will feature Grushecky and his Houserockers as well as Manion, who plays saxophone with the E Street Band. It will be a celebration of the 20th anniversary release of Grushecky's album "American Babylon." Springsteen was featured on the album and it marked the beginning of future Springsteen/Grushecky collaborations.
