Stand Against Hate, in Springwood Park at 10 AM on September 4, is the work of Nicolle Harris and Jess Alaimo, who say that they have engaged more than 50 advocacy groups, religious leaders, city officials and business operators to take part.

Among those listed as participants are the office of city Mayor John Moor, Second Baptist Church, Women's March Asbury Park, Garden State Equality, Iraq Veterans Against War, State Senator Jennifer Beck, and New Jersey Natural Gas.

Harris and Alaimo say that the rally is entirely non-partisan, and that various leaders will be asked to speak to the assemblage.

Harris has a long record of community activism and support. A 2015 article in the Asbury Park Press outlines her efforts for the city's Board of Education, teaching preschoolers in Neptune, and ministries at churches in Lakewood and Camden.

Alaimo is well-known for her comedic appearances, hosting open mic nights at the Anchor's Bend, and hosting "Rock and Roll Bible Study" on Brookdale student radio, on air and on line.
