Tell me if you think this is an invasion of privacy, or a smart move.

I usually take my boys to gaming stores in Brick, Freehold, or Asbury. But we were in the area of the GameStop in Ocean Township and one of my sons needed to trade something in...so, for convenience, we went to this particular store location.

I had never been to this GameStop before. I was told that in order to trade in the game (worth only about $4, mind you) I would have to have my fingerprint and photo taken, along with submitting my driver's license.

I actually laughed, thinking the guy behind the counter was joking. Only he wasn't.

When I asked why the invasion of privacy, he said it's the Ocean Township police that instituted the policy. Why? To be able to track stolen goods that are being sold back to GameStop as trade-ins.

What do you think of this?
