Yesterday may have been in the mid 70s -- a real treat for this time of year -- but there were some odd things happening at the beach. It was a war of dark clouds and hot sun!

It was SO warm out yesterday that even the gusts of wind were warm, and, during the moments the sun was out, it was downright HOT for a while. It was a little bit unusual to see people laying in the sand sunbathing in bikinis at the tail end of October!

But most of all I love this picture of one of the clouds fighting with the sun for attention during this 'war of the weathers' kind of day. The photos were taken around 1:45 pm. Looks kind of creepy as we prepare for Halloween! (By the way...that little green circle toward the bottom of the photo must be the sun, moon, or a planet!!!) The photo was taken looking out over the ocean, beach, and boardwalk.

The ocean was churning with giant waves (many surfers took advantage of that on the Manasquan side of the inlet)...and boats had to turn around at the inlet because the waves coming in would have rolled them.

In fact, there were quite a few people taking videos with their phones in case they could witness a boat flipping while trying to get out to sea! Apparently people love watching a disaster in the making.
