As temperatures head into the 80s with high humidity, meteorologist Dan Zarrow expects more storms to fire up in the afternoon. "it looks like today's rain bullseye will be in the southern half of the state... But I wouldn't rule out strong to severe thunderstorms anywhere south of about I-78 today," says Zarrow.

The National Weather Service is warning that heavy rainfall could result in flooding in low lying and poor drainage

A line of storms on Saturday night with gusty winds, heavy rain and frequent lightning crossed North Jersey early Saturday night briefly triggered a Tornado Warning for parts of Morris and Somerset counties. It also flooded out parts of Route 22 and Interstate 287 early on Sunday morning.

A backdoor cold front will move through the state on Sunday night bring cooler winds from the northeast that will bring down temperatures and the humidity.
