Remember Flint? He's the puppy that was brought to the Monmouth County SPCA in awful condition and in horrible pain. It was bad enough to bring tears to your eyes. Now, thanks to your donations for his medical care, he has transformed!

The Monmouth County SPCA (MCSPCA) is dedicated to the well-being of all animals. When two-month old puppy Flint Marko was carried into the shelter, his body was covered in pustules, causing him to whimper at the slightest touch.

His front leg was severely deformed from malnourishment and from being kept in a cage for the majority of his short life. The loving staff and volunteers at the MCSPCA jumped into action to do everything they could to make Flint comfortable.

Through the aid of the community and the generous gifts from supporters through the 2nd Chance Medical Fund/The Dutchess Fund, the MCSPCA was able to raise over $12,000 in four short days towards Flint's lifesaving medical care. Flint was immediately put into a foster home with one of the MCSPCA's senior Veterinary Technicians.

After a little over two months of receiving nothing but love and top notch medical care, Flint's medical issues were cleared and he was able to find a loving home of his own.

Now Flint is a happy and healthy five-month old. He was adopted by Ashley and Paul McCullough and lives with a canine sister, who was also adopted from the MCSPCA. Ashley says that Flint fits in beautifully with their family and is the best cuddle bug out there. He's smart and a good listener, too!

Flint is just one of the hundreds of animals with medical issues that find themselves in the care of the MCSPCA each year. Through the outpouring support of donors, the MCSPCA is able to provide the necessary care for every single animal that enters their shelter.

The MCSPCA is dedicated to enforcing animal cruelty laws and providing a safe haven for homeless, abused, and abandoned pets while they await adoption. Last year alone they cared for over 4,000 animals. They are able to do this solely based on your donations.

What else does the MCSPCA do? They reduce pet over-population through spay/neutering, cultivate humane treatment of animals through education and service, provide services to the community like low-cost spay/neuter, weekly vaccine clinics, dog training, humane law enforcement, lost and found, trap/neuter/return programs for free-roaming cats, pet therapy, a pet food pantry for low-income families, the Pittie Project to help get sweet Pit Bulls adopted rather than overcrowding the shelters, and, of course, the MCSPCA provides you the opportunity to adopt your forever pet(s)!
