Some of the great Jersey Shore summer traditions...days at the beach, strolling the boardwalk and getting stuck at the bridge.

If you live at the Jersey Shore the summer could add a new delay to any trip you take...waiting at the drawbridge.  Most of the encounters I have occur at the Beaver Dam Bridge, where Beaver Dam Rd meets Princeton Ave at the Brick Point Pleasant border.

And yesterday was a big day for catching the bridge. It happened to me three times in a two hour span. They do a good job keeping to the schedule , so I should have known better, but when Diane and I set out for some Sunday morning errands, the boats were making much better progress than we were, even in the "no wake" zone.

Honestly though, I'm not complaining. It's just another small price to pay for living in the place we love. It's actually fun to hit the pause button for a few minutes and just enjoy the surroundings. But I will say this, the view is not quite as beautiful the third time you're seeing it in the same morning...but I promise, I'm not complaining.
