We all want to see the boardwalks of the Jersey Shore open for business at the beginning of the season, and Belmar has started the process. According to our information, FEMA's assistance will pay for about 75% of the cost of rebuilding the boardwalk in Belmar. Reports are circulating that the town, which just approved a $20 million spending plan, is planning to use a hike in daily and seasonal beach badges to help offset the remaining cost.
Funtown Pier in Seaside, Jenkinson's in Point Pleasant, the recently redone Belmar Boardwalk, and the brand new waterfront in Union Beach...all major attractions in our area, and all casualties of the monster we call Sandy.
So what should be rebuilt first?
