December 5, 2012 We all want to see the boardwalks of the Jersey Shore open for business at the beginning of the season, and Belmar has started the process. According to our information, FEMA's assistance will pay for about 75% of the cost of rebuilding the boardwalk in Belmar. Reports are circulating that the town, which just approved a $20 million spending plan, is planning to use a hike in daily and seasonal beach badges to help offset the remaining cost.

July 12, 2012 Bathing suits are now legal on the boardwalks of Asbury Park. The town council repealed the 1958 ordinance that made it illegal to wear bathing suits on the boardwalk. Former Councilwoman Louise Murray felt the bathing suits might threaten Asbury Park's classy image.
April 18, 2012 As reported previously, Point Pleasant Beach has been trying to ban the sale of alcohol in the town after midnight, unless establishment's agree to pay a fee per patron. It looks like this could become a reality.
