CT school shooting

Twenty-eight are dead including 20 children at an elementary school in Connecticut on Friday after 20-year-old Adam Lanza opened fire inside the building where his mother Nancy was a teacher.

A tearful President Barack Obama said Friday he grieved first as a father about the massacre at a Connecticut elementary school, declaring, "Our hearts are broken today." He called for "meaningful action" to prevent such shootings but did not say what it should be.

It is the deadliest school shooting since the Virginia Tech massacre in 2007.
