I am so glad that the tourist season is here, and thrilled the Jersey shore is getting so many summer visitors. I thought it would be helpful to offer a sort of 'welcome to the neighborhood' guide to driving in New Jersey
It's not just Friday anymore! Just a few years back the dreaded day to drive on the Parkway in the summer was Friday. Anybody who lived here for even a minute knew not to go Parkway South on Friday in the summer and everything will be alright. Not anymore.
Here comes our favorite time of year. The sun, the boardwalk, the beaches and the tourists. All of those are welcome words to area businesses who are hoping for a big summer tourist season, and we would love to see it be the biggest summer ever! Even still I remember sitting on the Parkway one steamy Friday last summer.
According to a AAA survey reported at seattletimes.com, 90 million of us will be hitting the road and traveling over 50 miles away from home this holiday season. If it works out that way, it would be the second highest number in ten years. So, it sounds like we're all going to be hitting some traffic as we go 'over the river and through the woods'.
We've all had those dreams where you wake up just a little confused. It's especially bad when an alarm wakes you up mid-dream...just when it was starting to get really good!! I had one of those dreams last night, and it got me thinking: does it really mean something or is just your brain taking a little vacation?
