What to Be Thankful for This Year
Thanksgiving is days away and this year's holiday season will be very different for so many of us.
Despite the immense amount of loss we've seen over the last three weeks, we still have so much to be thankful for.

Despite the immense amount of loss we've seen over the last three weeks, we still have so much to be thankful for.
The holidays are upon us, and how appropriate that after yesterday's discussion of ridiculous Black Friday sales this gem appears from the interwebs.
Mother's Day is THIS SUNDAY, and while I'm pretty sure my Mama is better than yours, they should all be celebrated equally.
So tell me, what's the best advice your mom ever gave you?
Moms, are you sick of looking at your kids' messy rooms? Bed never made? Toys all over the place? Clothes balled up on the floor?
If you're at the end of your rope, take a deep breath, and keep reading...this will get them to clean.
It's the madre of all holidays...at least in Puebla, Mexico. We're talking Cinco de Mayo (May 5th), the day we bust out our sombreros and celebrate our inner Mexican.
If you're thinking of having a fiesta to celebrate, be sure to include these recipes!
With the holiday weekend upon us, I got to thinking how my family used to celebrate Easter and was wondering how others celebrated.
Does this sound familiar to you?
It's the middle of the week, and on a beautiful day like this, it's not hard to picture yourself on the beach with a frozen drink in your hand...well, it might not be quite warm enough for THAT, but there's no reason you can't have that drink. After all, it's National Margarita Day.
The holidays are officially over, and everyone is back to their regular routine. I don't know about you, but I'm kind of glad to be 'back to normal.' Don't get me wrong, the holidays are nice, but they also tend to be a little stressful.
An article in the Mirror reminded me of something that bugs me around Christmas. This is the time of year when you hear from people you don't usually hear from the rest of the year, and that's awesome. Most of the time, that contact comes in the form of a Christmas card. I get the envelope, check the return address to see who it's from...and then I excitedly open it, only to find out that Aunt Agnes has chosen the most dreaded of all Christmas cards...the glitter card! I am now standing in the middle of my kitchen, glitter from head to toe, looking like a cross between Lady Gaga and the drummer from a Kiss cover band. but that's not all.
Last weekend, Diane and I went to choose the tree we'd decorate in the front yard this year. We picked a beauty, brought it home and I set it in place. Monday, I picked up the lights and some outside decorations and got to work. The lights worked on the first try, the decorations were perfect and I was done in 45 minutes. Perfect! But that tree wasn't done with me.
The holiday season is in full swing and there's just so much to do! Did you get a gift for everyone? Are all of the decorations up and would they make Clark W. Griswold look like an amature? Time is tight and our wallets are getting even tighter. Tha
Money is definitely tight for everyone this time of year, but that's no reason to be a Scrooge.
