Local sports fan know that their is no love loss between the New Jersey Devils and the New York Rangers. We want to know, which team do you support?
If you're like me and sick of only hearing about our state when it's the punchline of a joke, then the New Jersey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is a must see! Over the past few years I have been honored to work the red carpet at the ceremonies. I have met some of the world's most famous people, all of whom call or called the Garden State home. It's a day to be proud of New Jersey. This is a day I love. It's a day to put new Jersey on a well deserved pedestal, And it's a great event!
The garden state is about to get a whole lot greener. New Jersey has issued its first permit to grow medical marijuana legally. The permit was issued to nonprofit Greenleaf Compassion Center on Monday. Find out where it's been grown after the jump.
At this point, all New Jersey residents are keenly aware of the cultural stereotype that the rest of the country (and much of the globe) has of us.
I have seen it first hand a million times. When there are neighbors, children, first responders, or anyone else in need of help, Monmouth and Ocean counties, and all of New Jersey for that matter, always comes through. We reach into our pockets, even when there's not a lot in them to do what we can. We're good neighbors, good friends and good people! So when is Hollywood going to get it? Hey Hollywood..stop the New Jersey jokes!
How long have you lived in New Jersey? Isn't it funny that so many of us have been here for so long, some for a whole lifetime, and yet we can still be stumped on a basic NJ trivia question. Lots of us know about blueberries and tomatoes, but I was surprised to find out which question stumped a lot of people. I asked this one to some friends and was surprised to find that only 40% of lifetime Garden State residents got it right. Do you know it?
Do we really need to encourage people to be nasty here in the Garden State? Today is 'National Be Nasty Day', and according to examiner.com, you are encouraged to tell people to "talk to the hand" or tell them "yes you do look fat in that outfit." Who's bright idea was this?
I think failure to keep right tickets are an easy way for the state to make money. Now, fines could go up for people known as "left lane campers."
I checked out the list of reasons to live in New Jersey at toptenz.net. To me, some make sense and some don't. I think my favorite reason for living in NJ is summer. I know there's traffic, and it's hard to find parking, but there's something about being around the Jersey shore in the summer that is amazing. Sea gulls, the beach, the boardwalk...to me, there's nothing better.
Watching The Giants have their victory parade in New York City today inspired this list. What would make our Garden State better? You're probably thinking to yourself, only 5? Good point, but we're both very busy people, so let's focus on the big 5.
It seems to be the question without an answer. Do we live in North Jersey or South Jersey? Or do we live in Central Jersey? Check out some of these resources I found on the web, take our poll and share this story with your family and friends to see if we can come up with the answer.
