I recently heard some people talking about a survey that said women have more road rage than men. I consider road rage to be acting out on the anger you have when driving. I'm not sure if that's everyone's definition of it, but it seems to make sense to me. Based on my definition, I have observed way more men than women with road rage.

When you think about driving in New Jersey, you expect rudeness (even though we didn't make this list at travelandleisure.com). I was on my 12th jughandle of the day the other day, Route 35 to be exact, and it was packed. All the ingredients to get into one of those bad "I'm driving in NJ" moods, and then it happened. Someone...maybe you should sit down....let me in! I was so shocked I almost didn't go, like it was a trick or something. I squinted suspiciously and hesitantly went, waving 'thank you' cautiously to the driver who was just trying to be a nice guy.

Did you ever notice some otherwise nice, sweet Monmouth and Ocean County residents change when they get behind the wheel? I thought about it the other day when I was driving on the Parkway around exit 109. I was in the right lane and a guy in an SUV was the left lane. When we both tried to get in the middle lane at exactly the same time, we saw each other and slid back into our lanes. We glanced at each other and both motioned for the other to go first, and then both laughed a little and he let me go. I thought to myself, "a NICE exchange on the Parkway?? That never happens!" It usually doesn't.
