It's been a bitter cold week in New Jersey with temperatures well below freezing and we won't see relief until early next week. Despite the frigid temperatures, it still will likely be one of the warmer winters on record in the Garden State.
When I walked outside at 4:15 am with my scraper and brush to clear my car of last night's snow, I got hit with a gust of wind that felt colder than an episode of Divorce Court. And it dawned on me. Winter is my 4th favorite season.
From the wicked thunderstorms this summer, to Sandy, to the post-Sandy nor'easter, extreme weather seems to have become the norm around here. And then we hear about temperatures in the 60's this weekend. Really?
When I walked outside yesterday morning I said one thing. "Uh oh". I think that says it all. As a summer lover, that's the only true reaction. So is this normal, or is it a bad sign for the upcoming winter? I asked my favorite meteorologist that very question.
