There was quite a turnout this past Saturday night in Asbury Park for a wonderful teen photo exhibit.

My boys were lucky to be a part of a wonderful event where teens got to display their photography at a professional art gallery exhibit. The Art Tank on Bangs Ave. was packed!

This group of ten middle school and high school students had been taking photography classes through a special program from Meridian that began last December, and a really cool art gallery came on board to show their work on First Saturday in Asbury.

It was such a great experience for some young people who had never expressed themselves so publicly. Through their photos and art, they were able to convey emotions that they had dealt with since Superstorm Sandy. They  learned along their journey that some art forms can be therapeutic and beautiful and lead to healing in the form of creative expression that an audience could appreciate.

I am so proud of all these kids! There may be another showing or two in case you missed this one, so we will keep you posted on that.
