I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for participating in out special "Heart Month" show yesterday from Ocean Medical Center. It was great to see so many of the people responsible for saving my life in October.

Included on our guest list was my cardiologist, and that interview brought me right back to October 2013.

The day I had a heart attack, I couldn't have been more lucky. I know that might sound strange, but it's completely true.

I was walking on the treadmill one day in early October, after promising myself just one week earlier that I was going to get myself back in shape, when I felt an unusual pain. I thought I had pulled a muscle. So much for diagnosing myself. Just 10 minutes later, I was in the Ocean Medical Center' emergency room.

Just minutes later, I met Dr. David Pinnelas for the first time. What a way to meet. Dr Pinnelas introduced himself and gently announced I was having a heart attack. I will never forget how he carefully and confidently explained what was going to happen in the next few hours and how that explanation calmed me down and put me at ease.

We then headed to the cath lab, and along with the amazing team there, Dr. Pinnelas placed the stents I needed in there proper places and my recovery was underway. There is no doubt in my mind that between the quick thinking of the emergency room staff, and the incredible skills of the cath lab team and Dr. Pinnelas, they saved my life that day. How do you say thank you for that?

Please make sure you eat healthy, exercise and get checked out and make sure the people you love do the same.
