Whether you're buying an appliance, groceries or hitting the outlets, there are some days that are better than others.

Here's some inside scoop on when and where to get some great deals and/or avoid crowds!

Most of us already know that the best and biggest discounts happen the day after a major holiday....or at the end of each season. We know just how to find the hidden corners of the stores that hold clearance items for dirt cheap.

But what you may not know is that there is another type of sales cycle....apparently a well- kept secret in the retail world.

Here's what some experts say is a good way to schedule how you shop:

-- Tuesday is the best day for online shopping. This is the day most sites post sales and new items.

-- Wednesday night is the best time to shop for groceries. There's the least chance of a crowded store after 9 pm.

-- Monday or Tuesdays, early in the day, are the best days to do your Outlet shopping, for both better deals (as many restock at this time) and lesser crowds. The earlier you get there, the better chance you have of getting a great deal.

-- Weekends: the best time to shop for appliances if you want a good deal.

Do you have a secret for getting a discount, or for getting to a store when the selection is great but the crowd is small?
