The Food Shack in Pt. Pleasant Beach Closing in November
If you're familiar with Pt. Pleasant Beach, chances are you're familiar with The Food Shack. Unfortunately, the small eatery in front of Ken's Landing is closing on November 26.
The sad news was announced on Facebook.
Owner Gail Coulter's story is quite remarkable. The former court stenographer beat breast cancer and decided to open The Food Shack.
Four years later, Gail and her staff built up a wonderful reputation. Their rating on Facebook is 4.9 stars. So why are they closing? They lost their lease.
APP spoke to the owner of Ken's Landing, Norma Keller. She told them that the space The Food Shack occupies is needed for office space, and soon a luncheonette. Keller said, "we're going to try something different."
Judging by the comments on The Food Shack's Facebook page, the community is sad.
