Wedding season is underway here at the Jersey Shore, and with my own just 2 and half weeks away(!!), my brain is basically all-wedding, all the time.

Whether you're celebrating your own wedding, or attending someone else's, there's going to be plenty of music! So what are the biggest songs now?

I talked to Mike Walter, owner of Elite Entertainment, who just so happens to be my wedding DJ, and asked him what the trending party songs are for spring 2016. Here are the Top 5:

  1. DNCE - "Cake by the Ocean"
  2. Flo Rida - "My House"
  3. Rihanna - "Work"
  4. Anything by Justin Bieber ("Company"/"Love Yourself"/"Sorry"/"Where Are U Now?")
  5. DJ Snake - "Middle"

That said, don't feel like you have to have the same music as everyone else. I'm planning to buck the trends and have more of a throwback sound. (What do you expect from someone who hosts the Flashback Cafe?) I've requested a lot of 70s/80s and especially 90s songs to keep all my friends and family on the dance floor.

Mike says when it comes to making a great wedding playlist, you want to match 'the demographics of the guests. It should be diverse enough to make Mom and Dad happy...and of course get your friends on the dance floor.'

He also suggests being open to feedback. "Work with the professional [you've] hired. Offer your requests and input, but listen to the...suggestions we have. We can help craft your request list into an awesome party if you allow us!"

See you on the dance floor!
