These Poor Seagulls

As summer comes to an end, what will the seagulls at the beach do?

From french fries to Zeppoli, the seagulls at the Jersey Shore have been well fed all summer. Sure most of us don't WANT to feed them, since as soon as you attract one you end up with a war cry and then a hundred more gulls circling you, but the seagulls themselves are pros at stealing every crumb you drop!

Not only that, but they literally trash the trash! At night, when all the humans are gone, they dig through all the garbage pails in the sand, pulling out plastic bags, ripping them open, and stealing whatever crumbs you left behind. They make a giant mess on the beaches for the early morning cleanup crews.

Now that the tourists are leaving, these birds will have to go back to eating (GASP!) things like crab legs and clams that they find in the ocean! Horror!

Lol.

They have been SO spoiled all summer.

I have seen such desperation in some of them, that they will come right over and snatch something out of your hand if you aren't paying attention! I think they literally have forgotten what they are SUPPOSED to eat in favor of boardwalk food!
