This Asbury Park Building is FINALLY Going Up

This project has tried, and failed, several times since I've been alive.

I was very happy this summer to finally see the crane come and construction begin on a 'skeleton' in Asbury Park.

The construction on this Ocean Avenue site was abandoned more than once, leaving a stark reminder that Asbury kept trying to come back but wasn't quite able to get there.

Now, with a thriving oceanfront and downtown community, it looks like 1101 Ocean will finally make it. That looks like two floors so far on a building that the architect says will contain 128 residences, 58 hotel rooms, and a ground floor level of retail space .
