His family could no longer care for him, and now this young dog needs a new home.

Meet Sloan, our Point Pet of the Week. He's about a year old, and his family couldn't keep him.

The Monmouth County SPCA says he is a little timid when first meeting you, but as soon as he gets comfortable, he is so sweet and smart and playful and loves toys and balls.

He knows 'sit' and would make a great 'only' pet. He'd rather not share his new family with another animal. (I know some kids that wish they were an only-child, too, lol!!!)

Check out the video of Sloan and CLICK HERE for more details on adopting him.

And, in addition to the three locations of the MCSPCA in Eatontown, Middletown (inside PetCo) and Freehold (inside the mall)....you can meet some of the pets up for adoption at these locations:

On Tuesday, June 23rd, from 6 pm - 9 pm, the MCSPCA will be at Red Bank Dog Night Out on Monmouth Street. It's a monthly summer street fair focusing on the dogs and their friends of Monmouth County. There will be dogs up for adoption, vendors with toys, treats, and medical advice.

On Wednesday, June 34th, from 11 am - 3 pm, the MCSPCA will be visiting AT&T's Middletown Campus for a friends and family adoption fair outside Building D in the Visitor Parking Lot (200 S. Laurel Ave.).
