Three Monmouth County residents are facing a string of charges following a motor vehicle violation on Ocean Avenue in Deal where police found heroin in the car on Sunday around 11:25 am.

Ian Grant, 26, of Bradley Beach faces charges including possession, Robert Pugliese. 31, of Red Bank faces one possession count and had an active warrant out for his arrest in Middletown and Shaquasia Butts, 25, of Long Branch is also charged with possession but had active warrants out for her arrest in Long Branch, Tinton Falls and Eatontown.

The trio were officially pulled over on Marine Place.

Officers found the accused subjects in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

All three were brought to Deal Police Headquarters after their arrest for processing and charging in accordance with bail reform guidelines.

Grant is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, maintenance of lamps and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle and was later released on a criminal summons pending a court date.

Pugliese is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and was also found to have an active warrant out of Middletown. He was turned over to Middletown Police after being unable to post bail.

Butts is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, providing false information by implicating another and failure to wear a seat-belt.

She was committed to the Monmouth County Jail pending a court date.
