Tim Tebow Apparel Fight Settled Between Nike and Reebok
Reebok and Nike have settled their dispute over Tim Tebow New York Jets jerseys.
A deal was noted in papers filed Tuesday in federal court in Manhattan. Nike had filed a lawsuit saying Reebok was infringing on its licensing rights by selling Tebow jerseys and T-shirts. The terms of the settlement were not immediately known.
A federal judge had said Nike Inc. had shown a “probability of success.” Nike took over licensing rights for National Football League apparel at the beginning of April.
Nike spokeswoman Mary Remuzzi says the company is “pleased to have reached a mutually agreeable resolution” but had no other comment.
Reebok International Ltd. did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Tebow was traded from the Denver Broncos to the Jets last month.
