Some nostalgic patrons of Six Flags Great Adventure don't seem to think so. Since 1979, the wooden roller coaster has been a staple to the Jackson theme park, but since plans for new ride, Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom, are underway for 2014, it looks like Rolling Thunder is going to be torn down and replaced come September. Plummeting 415 feet at 90mph, Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom will be the tallest drop tower in the world.

Unfortunately, not everyone is excited about the change. Kara Silverman of Glenside, PA recently created a petition on change.org in hopes of keeping Rolling Thunder rollin' with nearly 700 supporters. Many patrons argue that Rolling Thunder is a historic ride and a good roller coaster for the whole family.
