There are few things more frustrating than finding yourself wide awake in the middle of the night. Now the experts want to help.

This time around the experts are focusing specifically on middle of the night insomnia. That's what they call it if you wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep. Here are some of the tips according to healthgrades.com.

No afternoon caffeine. We all know to skip that late night coffee, but did you know it can take 8 hours for caffeine to get out of your system? You may want to skip the afternoon cup too.

Skip the late night drink. If you've always thought a nightcap might help you sleep, you are right, and also wrong. The initial response to the drink might make you sleepy, but once it's metabolized, it will have an opposite effect.

Don't keep tossing as turning. If you lay in bed wide awake it won't help. If you haven't fallen asleep in 20 minutes, get up and do something you find relaxing until you feel tired again, according to the experts.

To me, it's all about stress. Maybe you have 20 things on your mind that you're worried about and now you can't sleep, so make it 21 things you're worried about. You know with each passing minute the alarm is that much closer. That's the worst, right? Maybe these tips will help. If not, the experts say to talk to your doctor about it.
