Two members of a Toms River family are stable and recovering from injuries after being hit by a car as they were in the crosswalk on Hooper Avenue near Caudina Avenue on Monday afternoon just before 4 pm.

NEW YORK, NY - OCTOBER 27: A pedestrian crosses the intersection of 3rd Avenue and 14th Street, one of Manhattan's most dangerous crosswalks for pedestrians, on October 27, 2014 in New York City. Four pedestrians have been killed in the last few weeks in New York City while a total of 212 people have been killed in total traffic deaths so far this year. These numbers have added to the urgency of Mayor Bill de Blasio's Vision Zero program, which aims to eliminate city traffic deaths. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images)

Amado Tlacocala-Vargas and Yolanda Flores of Chestnut Street in Toms River were carrying their 2-year old daughter as they were walking east across Hooper Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk, according to Toms River Police.

19-year old Amanda Odell of Toms River was making a left turn in a 2014 Hyundai Elantra onto Hooper Avenue from Caudina Avenue and didn't see the pedestrians until she hit them.

Tlacocala-Vargas hit his head on the windshield, the 2-year old had a bump on her head and the mother was uninjured and were treated at Jersey Shore Medical Center.

The accident remains under investigation by Toms River Police who add they are still looking into who had the right away upon the collision but appears that Odell had a green light arrow and the pedestrians were crossing against the signal, but remains under probe.

Police also determined Odell was not on her cellphone or impaired at the time of the accident.
