The alleged gunman who shot and wounded a Toms River 19-year-old in a housing complex parking lot near downtown Tuesday remains outside the law today, but police have issued his identification and image in an effort to bring him in.

Stephon Wilmot, 22, of Toms River, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon. He isconsidered armed and dangerous, and believed to be in possession of a handgun, according to police. He might be driving a 2001 Ford Taurus with New Jersey license plates. He's described as standing 6'0" in height and weighing about 200 pounds.

Authorities said that Wilmot and the victim were acquainted, and they believe that the encounter outside Winteringham Village on Route 166 was drug-related.

The teen was questioned after admitting himself to Community Medical Center with a bullet lodged in his shoulder. He was moved to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Police said that the wound was considered non-life-threatening and that his condition was listed as stable.

Upon capture, Wilmot's bail will be $750,000 cash.
