Recently, I posed a simple question on Facebook. What are you afraid of? Some of the answers were expected, while others were "deep" and not what you would expect. Here's the top 30!

  • 3

  • 2

    Clowns

This fear is very real for some people. One of the comments I got was "F*** clowns, seriously." According to a psychology professor at California State University, Northridge, young children are "very reactive to a familiar body type with an unfamiliar face."

  • 1

    Spiders

This is what people at the Jersey Shore are afraid of by an overwhelming amount. People with arachnophobia tend to feel uneasy in any area they believe could harbor spiders or that has visible signs of their presence, such as webs. If arachnophobics see a spider, they may not enter the general vicinity until they have overcome the panic attack that is often associated with their phobia. Some people scream, cry, jump from moving cars, trouble breathing, have excessive sweating or even heart trouble when they come in contact with an area near spiders or their webs. In some extreme cases, even a picture or a realistic drawing of a spider can also trigger fear.
