These are my picks. What are yours?

Diner food. There is just something about it...especially here at the Jersey Shore. These are my favorites. Mostly based on the frequency with which I visit these particular restaurants, and the great times spent there with family and friends so that they hold a warm spot in my heart. Diners are for more than just breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts...we use them for life experiences, celebrations, serious talks, dates, break-ups, sobering up after a long night at a club, early-morning eats before the events of a weekend, girl-talk, quiet time with a magazine and coffee, lunch-time meetings, a quick bite with the kids, desperation when no other places are open or have seats...and all kinds of other life-stuff!

1. Park Place Diner in Aberdeen/Matawan on Rt. 34. I have been going to this diner since I was a child. It has gone through different names and transformations, and I still love it. Awesome wait staff, too!

2. Blue Swan Diner in Ocean Township on Rt. 35.  I have lots of friends in that area, and it is still one of our favorite places to meet. Great food!

3. OB Diner, Rt. 88/ Rt. 35, Point Pleasant Beach. Lately, I find myself going to this one all the time!

4. All Seasons Diner, Eatontown. This is a great location across from Monmouth Mall, right between Rt. 35 and Rt. 36, but it's more than that. Great food and atmosphere and lots of my friends like to meet there for great eats!

5. Princess Maria Diner, Rt. 35, Wall Township. My kids grew up coming here...especially for breakfast. I still enjoy hitting that place late at night as a way to end a fun evening out.

What are your favorite diners? There are a couple in Keyport that I haven't been to in years that I used to love, and one on Main Street in Manasquan that is adorable, too.
