Train Fatality in Asbury Park
New Jersey Transit says a man was struck and killed by a train in central New Jersey.
NJ Transit Police respond to incident on tracks in Asbury Park
The accident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Seventh Avenue and Steiner Place in Asbury Park. The name of the man killed was not released, pending notification of relatives, and authorities were trying to determine why the man was on the tracks.
No passengers or NJ Transit staffers aboard the Asbury Park-bound train were hurt in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
