True Blood returns in six days, but who's counting? (Oh, right, I am.)

My name is Jason Matthews and I'm addicted to True Blood.

Fellow Jersey Shore Truebies, we've had a long wait since September but that will end this Sunday. After 9 months it's easy to forget a few details, so let's take a quick look at the major cliffhangers from the Season 4 finale and then get the discussion going!

When we left Bon Temps...

Jessica paid a visit to a beat up Jason Stackhouse, who had confessed to his (former?) best friend Hoyt what had been going on between the two of them. They agreed to keep their "relationship" casual and after she left Jason recieved a second visitor, a blast from the past, in the form of Steve Newlin, reverend of the Fellowship of the Sun (the anti-vampire church) sporting a pair of fangs.

Newly-single Alcide told Sookie he loves her and they should be together (he got over Debbie pretty fast) and she shot him down. Then, he was called away from Merlotte's to one of his construction sites where he discovered a giant hole in the concrete foundation. A hole that had previously been occupied by Russell Edgington, former vampire king of Mississippi.

Back at Merlotte's, Terry received a surprise visit from an old military buddy he heard was dead. Then, Arlene got a surprise of her own, a visit from the ghost of Rene who warned her that Terry's past wasn't behind him.

Debbie, having been dumped by Alcide, broke into Sookie's house with a shotgun. Tara (in an attempt to win the best friend in the world award) jumped in and literally took a bullet for her. Sookie did what we've waited two seasons for her to do to Debbie and then held Tara as the credits rolled.

Who turned Steve Newlin? How did Russell Edgington escape? Should Arlene trust Rene's ghost? Could Tara really be dead? Leave a comment below!

Check back next Monday for a recap of Sunday's episode, "Turn! Turn! Turn!"
