Two men caught dealing heroin outside Toms River Home Depot

A Manchester resident and a Jackson resident met in the parking lot of another town's Home Depot for a heroin deal, but they were caught in the act by the Ocean County Prosecutors Office Narcotics Strike Force on Thursday January 24, announced OC Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer.

Detectives of the Ocean County Narcotics Strike Force were conducting surveillance that day during a street level narcotics suppression detail and saw Luke Delaney meet with Peter Fischler and allegedly distribute a quantity of heroin to Fischler in the Home Depot parking lot at 1334 Lakewood Road in Toms River.

As Strike Force Detectives approached both men, Fischler tried to hide the heroin.

Following the arrests, officers found approximately twenty individual dosage units of heroin along with two hypodermic needles.

Delaney, 22, of Jackson was arrested and charged with Distribution of Less Than One Half Ounce of Heroin in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:35-5b(3), Possession of Less Than One Half Ounce of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(3), Possession of Heroin in violation of  N.J.S.A.2C:35-10a.

He was transported to the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Fischler, 38, of Manchester was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:35-10a, Hindering Apprehension in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:29-3b(1) and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:36-6a.

He was processed and released pending a future court date.

“We will continue our relentless pursuit of all individuals trafficking illegal narcotics in Ocean County,” Prosecutor Billhimer said.
