Yet another reason I'm proud to call Monmouth County home.

Two public schools here in Monmouth County were named in the top 15 in U.S. News & World Report's Best High Schools National Rankings.

Biotechnology High School in Freehold was named as the #8 best public school in the country. (Pinterest)

Biotechnology High School in Freehold came in at number 8, with High Technology High School in Lincroft coming in just behind them at number 12. They are the highest ranking schools from NJ, and both part of the Monmouth County Vocational School District.

They were both also awarded gold medals, 'based on state proficiency standards and how well they prepare students for college.'

The rankings are created using statistics from proficiency tests, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate test results, and other data.

Congratulations to both schools on a job very well done!
